It is only a short trip out of the city, so you will be back in time for d-i-n-n-e-r for the pooch. Well don’t you have to spell that word too? (Click images to download PDFs)

Learn some moves on the dance floor, help animals in need, and the price is better than cover at a swanky club or broadway show. Seriously, go shake your moneymaker.

Mulchfest 2007: Fancy Up Your Dog Run

Posted by Lizz on 01/05/2007
Categories: NYC Event, Parks

Mulchfest 2007Imagine it. An unseasonably warm January. A soft, squishy, muddy dog run.
Mmm, muddy paws!
So to give a little back to your dog run for being a great place to take the dogs, we love the idea of taking your finished up Christmas trees over to Mulchfest for recycling into free dog-run mud-prevention. Of course, you will have to bring a few bags with you and haul them over to the dog run, but your carpet or furniture (and family members) will love you for it!

Mulchfest runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 2 pm in various city parks. Click the logo for exact locations.

Event: Gingerbread Homes for Animals

Posted by Lizz on 12/13/2006
Categories: NYC Event

Gingerbread CBGB Rational Animal is teaming up with the ASPCA to bring the 4th annual Gingerbread Homes for Animals event to Chelsea Market. The gingerbread homes are on display now through December 17th.

Gingerbread House Last year, when this event took place in Central Park, the gingerbread homes were amazing. Pastry chefs from all over the city do an elaborate job to help educate about animals in NYC. While many of the animals featured on the gingerbread homes are not the kind you would take home as pets (wildlife was a large part of last year’s event), there will be opportunities to learn more about the plight of homeless pets in NYC too.
For more photos, check out the Flickr page!

(Hours: M-F 10-6, Sat 10-8, Sun 10-6. Here is how to get to Chelsea Market, in case you are not a foodie.)
